DJ Lagway, Florida Gators 5-star quarterback commit, unleashes for 5 TDs
If a Heisman Trophy for high school football existed, DJ Lagway would certainly be a frontrunner to win the prestigious award.
The Willis (Texas) quarterback and five-star Florida Gators commit has dominated opponents during the 2023 season, and he continued his strong play in his most recent outing.
Lagway finished with 391 yards and five touchdowns in Willis' 56-17 win over College Park on Thursday, increasing his season total to more than 2,220 yards and 36 passing touchdowns through seven games.
Last week, the five-star signal caller accounted for eight touchdowns, seven of which came in the first half, in a 75-14 victory against Cleveland.
It wasn't the first time this season Lagway racked up seven touchdowns in the first half of a game.
Lagway, the Florida Gators' top-ranked commit, is the nation's No. 3 quarterback and No. 20 overall recruit in the class of 2024, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
