Micah Hudson, Texas Tech 5-star commit, erupts for 2 TDs on first 2 touches

Lake Belton (Texas) wide receiver confirmed commitment to Raiders this week after Texas A&M official visit

The highest rated commit in Texas Tech history continues to back up his lofty pedigree.

Lake Belton (Texas) 5-star wide receiver Micah Belton exploded for two receiving touchdowns and a long punt return in the first quarter of a blowout of Grandbury on Friday night.

Led by Hudson, the Broncos' first unit built a 38-point lead by halftime and pulled away for a 45-7 win

His first two catches? He turned into touchdowns.

Hudson scored the game's second touchdown — a 19-yard haul from quarterback Eli Mascarenas — to put Lake Belton up 14-0 with 5:27 left in the first.

The Broncos forced a turnover on downs on the next possession. Shortly after they took over, Hudson caught a pass on a curl route, shook two defenders in the open field and bolted in for a 70-yard score.

Hudson had recorded 138 receiving yards after his first four catches — all in the first half.

Hudson has, full stop, been one of the most dominant high school wideouts in the country this fall, including a 200-plus-yard game and a three-touchdown stunner on October 6.

However, he made made Texas Tech faithful nervous after taking an official visit to Texas A&M last weekend.

In an interview with Dave Campbell's Texas Football, Hudson reaffirmed his commitment to Texas Tech:

“I just want to be able to still have those relationships because you never know what could go wrong, but I’m still 100 percent locked in,”

H

udson said. “… just being able to go watch a football game and things like that, being able to take my family up there, my mom had never been to A&M, so I just wanted her to go see it for herself to see how it went.”
