Dre'lon Miller, elite 2024 receiver, decommits from Texas A&M after LSU visit

Silsbee (Texas) High School 4-star reportedly made decision after Aggies' recent woes

Elite Texas wideout Dre'lon Miller reopened his commitment on Tuesday.

He committed to Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies on June 29, but announced his decommitment in a post to Twitter days after visiting LSU. Sources told 247 Sports' Mike Roach the decision came after Texas A&M's recent offensive struggles.

The Silsbee High School (Texas) senior is a 5-foot-11, 200-pound prospect ranked the No. 55 overall player and No. 11 wideout in the nation and the No. 10 recruit in Texas in 2024, according to Rivals.

"I love where I am from and hopefully everyone respects who I am and what I am doing but I just feel it is in my best interest to reopen my recruitment," Miller said. "I love Texas A&M but I need time to process what my next move is.

"This is a life decision. This is a family decision not just my decision."

Miller will be a highly sought-after talent the second go-around as he was the first, when he fielded more than 40 offers. He picked the Aggies despite interest from Miami, USC and Alabama State.

Miller visited Miami and USC in June.

He was a UIL Class 4A first team all-state pick by the Texas Sportswriters Association as a junior after going for 1,401 receiving yards, two interceptions on defense and 25 total touchdowns.

As a sophomore, Miller was named District 11-4A co-offensive player of the year.

Texas A&M is on a two-game skid after consecutive losses to No. 11 Alabama (26-20) and No. 19 Tennessee (20-13) on Saturday.
