USC football lands elite California high school DB over Oregon, Colorado, Utah
USC kept a Southern California blue chip defensive back prospect home when Los Alamitos (California) 4-star Isaiah Rubin announced his commitment to the Trojans on Friday.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound defensive back ultimate chose the Trojans over Oregon, Colorado and Utah.
He's the No. 28 rated corner back in the country and No. 26 overall prospect in California, per 247 Sports.
Rubin fielded a long list of offers, but settled on his final four in late September.
The play of USC's defense has at times been a storyline for the Trojans (6-1, 4-0 Pac-12), which are coming off of a loss on the road to Notre Dame.
He joins the nation's No. 19 recruiting class in 2024 — a list of pledges that includes Atascocita (Texas) 4-star corner Braylon Conley and in-state commits Marquis Gallegos, a Sierra Canyon 4-star safety, and St. John Bosco 4-star corner Marcelles Wiliams.
