Isaiah Evans, Drake Powell of Team CP3 pick up Peach Jam honors
Isaiah Evans and Drake Powell, fresh off their impressive weeks at the NBA Players Association Top 100 Camp, left their marks in Augusta, Georgia during EYBL's Peach Jam last week.
Evans, a rising senior at North Mecklenburg who has committed to Duke, and Powell, a rising senior at Northwood who has committed to North Carolina, both played for Team CP3, the organization led by current NBA star Chris Paul.
Team CP3 went 3-2 during its pool play and didn't reach the single elimination tournament, but that didn't stop Evans and Powell from being recognized for their play during their five games.
Evans was named to the tournament's first team after averaging 20.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He was the fourth-leading scorer during the tournament and his 27 points led the way in an 80-56 win against the N.H. Lightning last Thursday during pool play.
Powell was selected to the second team in the prestigious event after averaging a double-double--16.6 points and 10 rebounds per game while shooting 55.6 percent from the field. Powell also dished out 3.6 assists per game.
Powell posted double-doubles twice during the week--20 points and 11 rebounds in CP3's opening win against JL3 and then finishing with 18 points and 18 rebounds against N.H. Lightning.
