Congratulations toGahanna boys basketball point guard Sean Jones for being voted SBLive’s Ohio High School Athlete of the Week for Jan. 10-16!
The senior scored 27 points against Pickerington North in a 53-42 win and had 15 points in a 48-44 win over Brush.
Jones received 53.68% of the vote, beating out Gahanna's Victoria Richardson who finished second with 21.35%. Tree of Life's Gianna Lane finished third with 7.59% and Buckeye's Danny Flood finished fourth with 7.53%. There were over 18,000 votes tallied this week!

Won three events in the 400m relay,100m backstroke and 200m free relay, helping her team to its first OCC title since 2019.
Danny Flood, Buckeye boys basketball
Joined the 1,000-point club as he dropped 56 points to break Medina County and Buckeye High School’s record for most points in a game in a 79-69 win over Elyria Catholic.
Caleb Gemmen, Mentor boys swimming
Won four events at the Perry Invitational in the 100m breaststroke with a time of 59.79, the 200m individual medley in 2:03.45, plus the 200m free relay and 400m free relay.
Gina Goodman, Genoa girls basketball
Scored 34 points for the Comets and tied the school record with eight 3-pointers in a 62-12 win over Ostego.
Chance Gray, Winton Woods girls basketball
The Oregon commit had 39 points and went 16-for-16 from the free-throw line in a 69-62 win over Westerville North.
Tanner Holbert, Logan Elm boys basketball
Tallied a new career-high of 35 points in a 55-46 win over Amanda Clearcreek, plus scored 27 points vs. Teays Valley.
Gianna Lane, Tree of Life girls basketball
Lane was responsible for more than half of the Trojans’ scoring, finishing with 33 points including a buzzer-beater 3-pointer vs. Delaware Christian.
Jayda Mosley, Purcell Marian girls basketball
Had 33 points and set a program record for most 3-point field goals made in a single game (11) in a 90-40 rout over Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy.
Ryan Mueller, Gilmour boys basketball
The junior had 26 points in the Lancers’ 62-49 win over Cleveland Central Catholic.
Victoria Richardson, Gahanna bowling
Bowled a 681 (246, 224, 211) in a three-game series and was named tournament MVP. Also bowled a 412 (204, 208) earlier that week in a win over Pickerington Central.
Gavin Rowell, Kenston ice hockey
The freshman had four goals in a 6-3 victory over Chagrin Falls.
Devin Royal, Pickerington Central boys basketball
Had 27 points and six rebounds in the Tigers’ 62-36 win vs. Garfield Heights. Had 22 points in a 44-40 win over Reynoldsburg.
Imarianah Russell, Reynoldsburg girls basketball
Finished with 29 points in a 56-53 win over Pickerington Central, plus scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds vs. Regis Jesuit.
Biagio Savarino, St. Ignatius ice hockey
Had a goal in the shootout period vs. St. Francis (New York) and had two assists in a 5-3 win over Howell.
