Dublin Jerome wins low-scoring game against Olentangy Berlin, 17-7
Dublin, OH – Dublin Jerome needed to bounce back after taking its first loss a week ago.
The Celtics did just that with a 17-7 win over Olentangy Berlin on Friday night.
Jerome started the night off on the right foot, getting points on each of its first two drives.
On the first drive of the game, the Jerome offense found the endzone when quarterback Zakk Tschirhart found Marek Tzagournis for an 11-yard touchdown pass to take a 7-0 lead.
And then the Celtics made it 10-0 with a Carter Holden field goal on the second drive.
The last score of the game for the Celtics came last in the second quarter as Tschirhart threw and 8-yard touchdown pass to Luke McLoughlin.
The Jerome defense made it hold up, allowing just a Harrison Brewster touchdown pass to Evan Fabrizio a little more than midway through the third quarter.
Tschirhart completed 22 of his 26 pass attempts for 214 yards, with 10 of those passes finding Tzagournis for 107 yards. McLoughlin had 102 yards rushing to go along with his receiving touchdown.
The Jerome defense gave up less than 250 total yards of offense.
Jerome (7-1) will play at Olentangy next week, while Berlin (5-3) hosts Marysville.
