Hudson football shuts out Solon 31-0 to open OHSAA playoffs
HUDSON, Ohio – Hudson football remained unbeaten with a 31-0 win over Solon in the opening round of the OHSAA Division II, Region 5 playoffs Friday night.
The Explorers ran for 317 yards and three touchdowns and had an interception return for a touchdown to open their playoff run.
Hudson, the No. 3 seed in Region 5, took an early 3-0 lead on a 23-yard field goal by DJ Ashe and then scored its first touchdown of the game on a 44-yard run by Ian Ludewig late in the second quarter to lead 10-0 at halftime.
Blake Toth then gave the Explorers a score from the defensive side when he intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown midway through the third quarter.
Hudson finished off the game with two fourth quarter touchdown runs as Ludewig scored from one yard out and quarterback Jagger Pallay took one 64 yards to the house with just under nine minutes left to start the running clock.
Ludewig led the Hudson offense with 191 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries and Pallay added 104 yards rushing while passing for 46 yards.
The Hudson defense held Solon to just 142 yards of total offense.
Hudson will host No. 6 Walsh Jesuit in the second round.
