No. 1 Massillon 28, St. John's College (Washington, D.C.) 7

Massillon welcomed back quarterback DaOne Owens, who sat out last week while the OHSAA and the school looked into his eligibility after transferring to Massillon.

Owens finished the game with 202 total yards of offense - 155 passing and 47 rushing - and scored one touchdown on the ground and threw for a score.

Massillon trailed 7-0 early but scored the final 28 points of the game.

The game was called with 6:45 left in the fourth quarter after multiple personal fouls were called. St. John's was hit with 16 penalties for 157 yards, while massillon finished with seven penalties for 72 yards.

No. 9 Youngstown Ursuline 34, St. Vincent-St. Mary 20

In the battle of the Fighting Irish, it was the one from Youngstown who came out victorious over the one from Akron.

Ursuline quarterback Jack Ericson tossed three touchdown passes to lead Ursuline to the road win over STVM.

Ursuline took a 21-7 lead after the third Ericson touchdown pass in the third quarter, but STVM answered to cut the lead to one possession again. But on the ensuing kickoff, Jy’Quise Liason returned it for a touchdown to extend the lead.

No. 15 Archbishop Moeller 38, No. 18 Elder

Moeller moved to 4-3 (3-0 in the Greater Conference League - South) and clinched the conference title by scoring 31 unanswered points after the game was tied 7-7 in the first quarter.

Running back Jordan Marshall ran 22 times for 117 yards and three touchdowns while also passing for a score. In the third quarter, Marshall broke the school record for rushing yards in career. He now sits at 4,128 yards in his Moeller career, which is 30 clear of the old record.

Canton South 35, Triway 28

Canton South quarterback Poochie Snyder broke the Stark County record for most passing yards in a career before exiting with a hand injury.

After Snyder left the game, Triway erased a 28-7 deficit with 21 straight points to tie the game late in the fourth quarter.

But Canton South answered back with a 69-yard touchdown pass from Brodee Beegle to Tre Wilson just a minute later to give the Wildcats a 35-28 lead with 2:30 left. It was the second long touchdown of the game for Wilson, who also hauled in a 65-yarder from Snyder that broke the passing record for the quarterback.

North Canton Hoover 37, Massillon Perry 34 OT

A 20-yard touchdown run for Mason Ashby in overtime sealed a win for the Vikings, as Massillon Perry had the ball first in overtime and settled for a field goal.

Hoover led the game 31-21 after three quarters after trailing by four at the half, but the Panthers scored 10 points in the fourth quarter, culminating with a 56-yard touchdown run by Austin Mattox to tie the game.
