Ohio high school football playoffs roundup: Chardon, Caldwell, Springfield among winners in regional finals (11/17/2023)

The Ohio high school football regional finals were played on Friday night

The Ohio High School Athletic Association playoffs continued Friday night with 56 teams vying for a state championship across seven divisions, with eight teams in each division broken into the final two teams per region.

After three rounds, 21 of the 28 top seeds remained and 17 of those - St. Edward in Division I, Archbishop Hoban, Avon, Massillon and Anderson in Division II, Toledo Central Catholic and Bishop Watterson in Division III, Canton South and Steubenville in Division IV, Perry, Liberty Center and Valley View in Division V, Kirtland, Columbus Grove and Garaway in Division VI and Dalton and Marion Local in Division VII - were victorious on Friday to move to the state semifinals.

Meanwhile, in Division III, No. 7 Chardon defeated No. 1 Ursuline 31-14 in Region 9 and No. 6 Celina beat No. 1 Badin 37-25 in Region 12.

In Division IV, Region 13, defending state champion No. 2 Glenville defeated No. 1 Sandusky Perkins 36-26.

And in Division VII, it was No. 3 Caldwell over No. 1 Reedsville Eastern 20-19.

The lowest seed left is in Division I, Region 2, where No. 12 Springfield won the region with a 21-14 win over Dublin Coffman.
