Ohio high school basketball top stars and best performances (12/18/2023)
There were several big-time high school basketball performances across the state of Ohio this past week (Sunday-Saturday). Here are some of those performances.

Will Allen, Fairview boys basketball
Scored a game-high 26 points while shooting 10-of-14 from the floor in a 73-67 win at Brooklyn.
Elise Bender, Anthony Wayne girls basketball
In a 52-48 loss to Marysville, the junior guard scored 30 points. She also had 14 points to help lead the Generals to a 54-32 victory over Whitmer.
Mackenzie Blackford, Solon girls basketball
Dropped 59 points in two of the Comets’ victories. Blackford had 33 points in a 60-43 win over Wadsworth and finished with 26 points to help defeat Brecksville 54-37.
Jesse Burris, Delaware Hayes boys basketball
With Delaware trailing by one point and just 1.1 seconds remaining, Burris sank both of his free throws to lead the Pacers to a 59-58 comeback victory. The Ohio University recruit finished with 19 points.
Sidney Butera, Strongsville girls basketball
Led the Lady Mustangs to a 63-35 win over Shaker Heights with a team-high 23 points.
Meg Campbell, Jackson girls basketball
Combined for 41 points in two of the Polar Bears’ victories. Campbell posted a career-high 21 points to defeat Hoover 69-38 and scored 20 points in a 47-40 win over Lake.
Mackenzie Edingburgh, Archbishop Hoban girls basketball
Finished with 24 points in a 64-36 win at Fitch and also led the Knights with 14 points in a win at Ellet.
Cami Elliott, Olentangy Berlin girls basketball
Led the Lady Bears with 24 points in a 59-55 win over Newark Senior.
Dante Faiello, Sandy Valley boys basketball
Scored a game-high 38 points to pace the Cardinals to a 64-56 victory against Indian Valley.
Julia Hall, Magnificat girls basketball
Tallied 20 points in a 57-54 loss to Pickerington Central and scored 13 points in a 62-28 win at Westlake.
Nick Iliano, Gilmour Academy boys basketball
The junior guard finished with 21 points and three 3-pointer in his first career start to help take down Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin 78-49.
Jesse McCulloch, Lutheran East boys basketball
Put up 26 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks to roll past St. Vincent-St. Mary 63-49. Earned the Cleveland Play-by-Play Classic MVP with 27 points, 21 rebounds and 8 blocks in a 71-45 victory over Winton Woods.
Ky’Aira Miller, Purcell Marian girls basketball
Led the Lady Cavaliers to three wins behind 43 points. Miller had a team-high 19 points in a 56-51 win over Cooper (Kentucky), 11 points in a 71-34 rout against Roger Bacon and 13 points in a 92-36 victory over Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy.
Evan Platfoot, Jonathan Alder girls basketball
Led the team to a 3-0 record for the week by averaging 21 points, four rebounds and three assists and also scored her 1,000th career point.
Hosea Steele, Richmond Heights boys basketball
Was named the Cleveland Play-by-Play Classic MVP after dropping 18 points to edge St. Ignatius 74-69.
Colin White, Ottawa-Glandorf boys basketball
White scored 28 points, including a pair of dunks, as the Titans cruised past Wapakoneta 57-21. The Ohio State recruit also put up 30 points to defeat Shelby 67-63.
