This week's Top 25 baseball rankings

A couple of state champions will be crowned later this week.

Five more will receive gold balls a week later, as Oklahoma baseball teams in all classifications, from 6A all the way down to Class B, will be involved in postseason competition. 

This week will be the state tournaments for classes A and B, while teams from classes 6A to 2A get set to take part in the regionals.

Here now is the SBLive Oklahoma Top 25 high school baseball rankings, with games updated through Monday. 

1. Silo (24-0)

The Rebels drew a bye from last week's 2A bi-districts but was still able to pick up a pair of wins against higher classification foes. They beat 5A Shawnee, 8-0, on April 27 and then got a 4-2 win on Monday against 3A Kingston. Silo now gets set to host a 2A regional beginning Thursday.

2. Bixby (30-7, 11-3 6A-4)

Bixby prepared for its upcoming home regional by taking two of three non-district games within the past week. The Spartans got a 9-2 win against 3A contender Victory Christian and a 10-1 win against Berryhill but dropped a 13-11 decision to fellow 6A foe Tulsa Union.

3. Owasso (26-8, 12-2 6A-3)

Owasso survived as the champion of an ultra-competitive District 6A-3. The Rams tuned up for this week's home regional by defeating Booker T. Washington, 16-0, on April 28 and dropping a 10-9 decision to Kansas school Life Prep two days later.

4. Sand Springs (29-6, 11-3 6A-3)

The Sandites played a pair of fellow teams that had been on a roll themselves within the past week. They beat 5A contender Sapulpa on April 28, 18-5, and then dropped a 4-3 decision Saturday to Westmoore. Sand Springs now gets set to host a 6A East regional beginning Thursday.

5. Edmond Deer Creek (27-10, 12-2 6A-1)

Deer Creek picked up an 8-3 win against 5A title contender Piedmont on April 28. The Antlers now get set to host a 6A West regional on Thursday.

6. Heritage Hall (26-3, 12-0 3A-3)

The Chargers began their playoff run by winning two straight in their 3A bi-district series against Star Spencer (18-14, 0-0). Saturday, they played a regional tune-up game against 4A contender Blanchard, which beat the Chargers, 6-5.

7. Verdigris (26-4, 12-0 4A-5)

Verdigris extended its current win streak to nine straight following a 4A bi-district sweep last Thursday against North Rock Creek, though the Cardinals survived a 3-2 decision in the opener. But Verdigris took command in the second game, winning 10-0.

8. Jenks (31-6, 11-3 6A-3)

Currently winners of nine straight, the Trojans may be the best team in the state in any classification not to be playing at home in a regional this week. That's because Jenks dropped to third in 6A-3 after losing the tiebreaker to Sand Springs, and as a result, the Trojans will play their 6A East regional at Tulsa Union.

9. Tuttle (31-8, 13-1 4A-1)

The Tigers posted identical 12-0 wins in their 4A bi-district series against Oklahoma City Douglass on April 28. They followed that up the next day with an impressive 17-8 win against 6A Tulsa Union. Tuttle will host a 4A regional tournament later this week.

10. Piedmont (26-8, 12-2 5A-1)

Piedmont dropped an 8-3 decision on April 28 to Edmond Deer Creek before rebounding with an 18-6 win over the weekend against Putnam City North. The Wildcats will be hosting a 5A West regional starting Thursday.

11. Sapulpa (26-9, 14-0 5A-3)

Sapulpa had reeled off 12 straight wins before falling to Sand Springs on April 28, 18-5. But the Sandites have a chance to bounce back with their home 5A East regional, which will be a three-team affair.

12. Cushing (27-4, 12-2 4A-6)

The Tigers began their playoff run on April 27 with a two-game sweep against Catoosa in the 4A bi-district round. Cushing took a 6-0 triumph in the opener and got the sweep with an 18-5 win in the nightcap.

13. Collinsville (30-6, 11-1 5A-4)

Collinsville closed out the regular season on April 28 with a 5-4 win against Glenpool. The Cardinals have won 13 of their past 15 ballgames entering their home 5A East regional tournament this week.

14. Blanchard (29-5, 14-0 4A-2)

The Lions got a two-game 4A bi-district sweep of Oklahoma City John Marshall, winning by a combined score of 41-0. Blanchard then got a 6-5 win last Saturday against 3A contender Heritage Hall.

15. Victory Christian (30-8, 14-0 3A-7)

Victory drew a bye from the 3A bi-districts and played two of the top teams in 6A instead. The Conquerors lost 9-2 to Bixby and then 4-1 to Jenks. Victory resumes playoff action Thursday by hosting a 3A regional.

16. Westmoore (25-10, 10-4 6A-1)

Westmoore enters regional play having won four straight. That includes an impressive 4-3 win against Sand Springs on April 30.

17. Edmond Santa Fe (26-10, 11-3 6A-2)

The Wolves tuned up for their home regional with an 11-4 win against Southmoore on April 28; followed a day later with a 9-1 win against Bishop McGuinness.

18. Choctaw (27-6, 10-4 6A-2)

Choctaw wrapped up district play on April 30 by sweeping Lawton (10-13, 0-1). The Yellowjackets have now won seven straight games, and get set to be at home for a 6A West regional.

19. Oklahoma Christian School (28-7, 14-0 3A-1)

OCS drew a bye in the 3A bi-district round, and ended up playing 6A Norman on April 28, with the Saints on the short end of an 8-2 score. They now get set to play at home this week in a 3A regional tournament.

20. Duncan (23-7, 13-1 5A-2)

The Demons have won seven of their last eight ballgames as they get set to hold a 5A West regional later in the week.

21. Edmond North (27-8, 10-4 6A-1)

Edmond North swept Northwest Classen by a combined 35-0 in the Huskies' final district series on April 27. The following day, they dropped a 6-2 decision to Moore. This week, North travels crosstown to Santa Fe for its 6A West regional.

22. Canute (25-2)

The Trojans won the first three games of their Class A regional by a combined 34-0 before falling to Laverne, 16-5, forcing an extra game between the two to decide the regional champion. Canute turned the tables, winning 16-9 to advance to play in the Class A state tournament starting Thursday.

23. Washington (26-9, 12-0 3A-2)

Washington picked up a two-game 3A bi-district sweep against Oklahoma City Millwood on April 27, winning 14-1 and 14-0. The Warriors are at home Thursday to start a 3A regional tournament.

24. Marlow (27-8, 14-0 4A-3)

The Outlaws drew a bye into the 4A regional round, so they prepared for it by playing three games last week. They beat Stillwater, 8-3, before falling 3-1 to Enid and 9-8 to Edmond Memorial.

25. Elk City (24-8, 12-0 4A-4)

Elk City has won six straight games and 15 of its last 16 after scoring a combined 44 runs in a decisive 4A bi-district sweep of Dickson last week. The Elks are at home starting Thursday to take part in a 4A regional tournament.
