Oklahoma's best high school baseball players: Meet the state's top pitchers
By Ross Lovelace
With the high school baseball playoffs in full swing, SBLive is looking at the best players in Oklahoma.
In this segment, we feature the top pitchers across all classifications. An elite pitcher is one of the most important pieces of championship teams.
This is not meant to be a comprehensive list, as there are numerous great pitchers statewide. Let us know about any pitchers you think should be added.
Gabe Davis | Choctaw | SR
At the Five Tool Oklahoma area tournament, the right-hander struck out 10 batters in just 5 1/3 innings pitched. He didn’t allow a single run and only gave up three hits. He also found a 94 mile per hour fastball that proved effective.
Davis is currently committed to Oklahoma State.
Brennan Phillips | Owasso | SR
Along with Davis, Phillips is also committed to Oklahoma State as a senior at Owasso.
As recognition for his elite season, Phillips was recently named the MaxPreps National Player of the Week. In the Rams' season opener, Phillips was unbelievably perfect, striking out all 15 batters he faced.
Colin Fisher | Noble | JR
Fisher is just a junior but is already an elite pitcher with offers from the likes of Arkansas and Oklahoma.
In a win on March 7, Fisher struck out 16 batters in six innings, giving up just one hit and zero walks. Fisher is also a great quarterback, too, for Noble's football team.
Kyndon Lovell | Owasso | SR
Lovell has been near the top of the rankings for some time now. Against Santa Fe (Fla.) Catholic during a March spring break tournament in Florida, Lovell had an impressive outing with five innings pitched and no runs or hits allowed.
He’s been committed to Arkansas for since 2019 and recently signed with the Razorbacks.
Weston Rouse | Ft. Gibson | JR
An Oklahoma State commit, Rouse can truly do it all. He helped Ft. Gibson advance to the Class 4A regional finals behind a whopping 14 strikeouts.
The next day, Rouse went 3-for-4 at the plate with five RBIs and a home run to win it. It’s safe to say he’ll be an impact player for the Cowboys.
Logan Lunceford | Edmond Santa Fe | SR
In a win to start regionals, Lunceford responded to two early runs with 13 strikeouts. He did his work in just 4 1/3 innings.
Lunceford has the Wolves rolling right now during the playoffs. He recently signed with Missouri.

Parker Coil | Edmond Memorial | SR
All that needs to be said about Coil is that he sent the Bulldogs to the 6A state tournament with the game on the line. While he’s a star pitcher, Coil hit a walk-off to keep Edmond Memorial alive.
Coil has been committed to Arkansas since 2019 and recently signed with the Razorbacks.

Maxwell Knight | Bixby | JR
Like others on the list, Knight is also committed to play for Oklahoma State. This season at Bixby, he hit a school record 12 homers.
Knight received the MVP Player of the Game in a 3-2 April win against Tulsa Union after seven innings pitched and eight strikeouts.

In a May 5th win against Bartlesville, the junior racked up 10 strikeouts and only allowed one hit in six innings pitched. The Oklahoma State Games also named him to Team Tulsa.

Brex Caldwell | Red Oak | SO
Caldwell was a key contributor on a Red Oak team that recently won the Class A state championship. In the regional final, Caldwell threw a no-hitter through five innings, striking out 14 of the 16 batters he faced. As if that wasn’t enough, he also hit a timely home run.
Caldwell is set to graduate in 2024 and is already committed to Oklahoma State.

Brady Hamilton | Edmond Deer Creek | JR
Hamilton was part of an elite pitching rotation for the Antlers this season. In his first career start, he pitched four innings and struck out 11 batters. He only gave up two hits, allowing zero runs.
