In high school football, there were several major district matchups last week and volleyball, softball and cross country continue to wind down this fall. 

Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Oklahoma High School Athlete of the Week for Oct. 2-8. Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Voting will conclude Sunday at 11:59 p.m. If you would like to nominate an athlete, email athleteoftheweek@scorebooklive.com or tag us on Twitter. 

Isaiah Forbes, Tulsa Union football

In a 65-0 win against Norman, Forbes had three sacks and an interception.

Kaydin Jones, Jenks football

In a 42-14 road win against Norman North, Jones had a huge night with 14 carries for 111 yards. He scored three times on offense and had an interception on defense.

Demarius Robinson, Edmond Santa Fe football

The junior running back continues to light up the scoreboard, as Robinson rushed for more than 300 yards on Friday night on 35 carries. In the 56-49 win over Mustang, he had four touchdowns. In a three-game span, he has more than 900 yards, part of the Wolves' dramatic turnaround from a 1-9 season a year ago.

Cannon Wood, Piedmont football

The senior running back carried the ball for 241 yards on 24 carries and two touchdowns. On defense, he had 17 tackles and two tackles for loss in a 43-26 win against Lawton Eisenhower.

Ayden Guess, Tulsa Central football

The two way player had a night to remember, hauling in eight catches for 137 yards and three touchdowns on offense and getting eight tackles and two sacks on defense in a 20-16 win over Inola.

Jaylen Harper, Guthrie football

Harper had a season-high 220 yards and three touchdowns in a dominating win on Friday night.

Brayson Carter, Blanchard football

In a 20-6 win over Tuttle, the Blanchard defense scored three touchdowns and forced eight total turnovers. Carter had two interceptions and recovered a fumble that he returned for a touchdown.

Mikey Doctor, Victory Christian football

Doctor put on a great offensive performance on Friday night, as he had 11 catches for 156 yards. Doctor caught three touchdowns.

Xander Rhynes, Ada football

Rhynes had 105 yards rushing and had four rushing touchdowns on offense. Defensively, Rhynes had an interception and two tackles.

Robbie Schiltz, Prague football

Schiltz had two interceptions that he returned for touchdowns. The win moves the Red Devils to a perfect 6-0 on the year.

Caleb Hawkins, North Rock Creek football

Hawkins had 150 yards rushing, scoring four touchdowns on the ground, and also returned a punt for a touchdown in a win over Mount St. Mary’s.

Allen Thompson, Western Heights football

The junior quarterback passed for 365 yards and scored two touchdowns, while rushing for 102 more yards and three scores in a 42-40 win over Hinton.

Keller Shockey, Rattan fall baseball

The Rattan first baseman helped his team clinch the Class A state baseball championship. Shockey had a two-RBI single in the second as the Rams extended their lead to 4-0 in the second inning. That is all they would need to claim the win.

Eli Willits, Ft. Cobb-Broxton fall baseball

The junior shortstop has committed to play baseball at the University of Oklahoma - continuing a family legacy - and in the Class B state championship game, Willits had an RBI triple in the second inning to help the Mustangs get out to a 3-0 lead. They would go on to win, 10-0.

Claire Bain, Choctaw volleyball

Bain was an all-tournament team selection who reached 500 career digs as a senior. She led her team to a conference championship.

Ella Hale, Mount St. Mary’s volleyball

As a sophomore, Hale recently had 30 kills on 41 attempts in a single week and was named a first team all-conference player.

Timber Hensley, Caddo fast pitch softball

The senior pitcher pitched a shutout to lead her team to a 1-0 win against Red Oak in the Class A state softball championship over the weekend. The Bruins also repeated as state fast pitch champions.

Ava Sliger, Tupelo fast pitch softball

Tupelo won its first fast pitch state championship in school history over the weekend and it was thanks in large part to Sliger, who pitched a great game in a 3-2 win against Turner. She went 27-4 on the year and finished with 934 career strikeouts.

Kennedy Hight, Perry fast pitch softball

Hight drove in the first run of the 3A state title game as the Maroons built an early 3-0 lead and hung on for a 3-2 win against Lone Grove for the program's first fast pitch championship in 3A.

Kinsley Hill, Dale fast pitch softball

Hill tossed a two-hit shutout and struck out six batters, out-dueling Pocola pitcher and University of Oklahoma commit Allyssa Parker as the Pirates pulled off a 2-0 win for the 2A title, Dale's first fast pitch championship since 2018.

Ty Brooks, Lincoln Christian boys cross country

At the Pinnacle Conference meet at Holland Hall, Brooks won the meet with a time of 16:28. Brooks is only a freshman.

Tennyson Housley, Lincoln Christian girls cross country

Also at the Pinnacle Conference meet, Housley won the girls division with a time of 11:27.
