Oregon high school track and field bests: Top weekly, season marks for 2022

A look at the best marks posted in Oregon high school track and field for the week of April 10-16 as well as for the 2022 season

Two of the state’s best girls sprinters met at the Wilsonville Invitational on Saturday and threatened Margaret Johnson-Bailes’ 54-year-old state record in the 100 meters.

Lake Oswego sophomore Mia Brahe-Pedersen, who entered the season No. 2 on the all-time state list, lowered her personal best to 11.43 seconds with a narrow victory over Roosevelt senior Lily Jones, who clocked 11.52. 

Brahe-Pedersen is now within 13-hundredths of Johnson-Bailes’ mark set in 1968 while running for Churchill. Jones vaulted to third on the all-time list.

Jones moved to No. 5 on the all-time list in the 200 with her runner-up finish to Brahe-Pedersen at the meet. Brahe-Pedersen lowered her season best to 23.62, off her personal best of 23.39, while Jones finished in 23.95.
