Oregon City C Reese Gardner voted the WaFd Bank Oregon High School Softball Player of the Week
Congratulations to Oregon City catcher Reese Gardner for being voted SBLive’s WaFd Bank Oregon High School Softball Player of the Week for June 6-12!
The sophomore had a team-high 16 putouts, one coming on an impressive catch of a foul ball near the netting behind home plate, for the Pioneers in their 1-0, 10-inning loss against Tigard in the Class 6A state championship game at Jane Sanders Stadium in Eugene. (STORY, PHOTOS)
Gardner received 57.24% of the vote, beating out Cascade's Lexie Gidcumb who finished second with 19.5%. Cascade's Emma Hilfiker finished third with 15.14% and Oregon City's Gina Allen finished fourth with 3.5%.

The sophomore shortstop turned a clutch seventh-inning double play for the Tigers, fielding a grounder, sprinting to second base and then making a laser-beam throw to first, in their 1-0, 10-inning win over Oregon City in the Class 6A state championship game at Jane Sanders Stadium in Eugene. The senior left-handed pitcher turned in a record-setting performance for the Tigers in their 1-0, 10-inning win over Oregon City in the Class 6A state championship game at Jane Sanders Stadium in Eugene.
