Oregon high school track and field bests: Top weekly, season marks for 2023

A look at the best marks posted in Oregon high school track and field for the week of May 8-14 as well as for the 2023 season

Last week was the calm before the postseason storm for Oregon prep track and field athletes. 

Most big schools either took the week off or held casual league dual meets in anticipation of their district meets that start Tuesday with the first day of competition at the 6A Pacific and Mt. Hood conferences.

One mark of note came at Westview’s Metro League dual against Mountainside on May 10, when Wildcats senior Fuad Omer became the 17th runner in state history to break 48 seconds in the 400 meters, winning in 47.97.

By this time next week, we’ll know the fields for the three-day OSAA state championships to be held May 25-27 at historic Hayward Field in Eugene.

Here is a look at the best marks posted in Oregon high school track and field for the week of May 8-14 as well as for the 2023 season (through May 14).
