Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Oregon High School Team of the Week for May 8-14 as nominated by coaches, fans and readers. 

Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Voting will conclude Sunday at 11:59 p.m.

Barlow softball

Barlow (15-9) won a battle atop the Mt. Hood Conference 9-4 over Nelson on Monday, followed by a 6-3 win at Reynolds and a 17-2 mercy-rule decision at Clackamas on Friday.

Central Catholic baseball

Central Catholic (16-8) remained atop the Mt. Hood Conference after taking two games, 13-4 and 8-1, against Nelson last week.

Coquille girls track

The Coquille girls team scored 185.5 points to win its host Red Devil Invitational on Wednesday. On the track, Matti Nelson won the 800 (2:44.64) and Faith Gertner won the 3,000 (12:46.68). In the field, Holli Vigue led a 1-2-3 sweep in the discus (112-4.75) and won the shot put (32-10.5), Reagan Krantz won the pole vault (10-1), Melanie Lambson won the long jump (15-11), and Emelia Wirebaugh won the triple jump (33-5.5).

Crater softball

Crater (17-5) remained perfect in the Midwestern League with a three-game sweep over second-place Thurston, highlighted by an 11-1 mercy-rule win in Tuesday’s opener.

Dallas softball

Dallas (21-1) remained unbeaten in the Mid-Willamette Conference with an 8-5 win at second-place Lebanon on Wednesday. The Dragons also recorded mercy-rule decisions over Woodburn and Central.

Gladstone baseball

Gladstone (21-2) remained atop the Tri-Valley Conference with a 9-8 win over Madras on Thursday’s Senior Night. The Gladiators opened the week with mercy-rule wins, 12-0 at Estacada and 13-1 at Molalla.

Marshfield softball

Marshfield (18-6) claimed the Sky Em League crown by sweeping a Friday doubleheader over second-place North Bend 8-7, 19-13 on Friday.

Newport boys track

The Newport boys scored 198.83 points to win their eight-team invitational on Tuesday. On the track, Ethan Osborn won the 400 (52.30) and Connor Brown won the 1,500 (4:18.64). In the field, Keenan Williams won the shot put (41-0) and discus (115-10), Landon Cunningham won the javelin (152-0), Kaz Mitchell won the pole vault (12-1), and Aaidyn Bokuro won the long jump (18-11.25).

Putnam baseball

Putnam (16-8) remained in a tie atop the Northwest Oregon Conference after notching a 2-1 win over Canby to open the week, followed by 4-3 and 8-3 wins over La Salle Prep.

Regis girls track

The Regis girls team scored 100 points to win Friday’s 13-team Kennedy Invitational. Daisy Hernandez won the 300-meter hurdles (50.01) and Mac Parrish won the long jump (15-9), and Regis also swept the short and long relays.

Scappoose baseball

Scappoose (21-2) remained the class of the Cowapa League with four wins last week, highlighted by a tight 6-5 victory over Tillamook on Monday and ending with a 15-2 mercy-rule win over Astoria on Friday.

Sheldon softball

Top-ranked Sheldon (24-1) opened the week with a 2-0 shutout at Pacific Conference leader Sherwood, followed by sweeping a doubleheader over league foe Grants Pass 8-0, 8-1 on Friday.

Southridge softball

Southridge (16-6) moved to the top of the Metro League with a 6-3 win over fellow contender Westview on Tuesday, followed by a 19-2 win at Beaverton and a 5-1 win over Aloha.

Sprague baseball

Sprague (20-6) remained atop the Central Valley with a three-game sweep over McNary, highlighted by an 11-8 victory in Friday’s finale.

Stayton softball

Stayton (22-3) asserted its dominance of the Oregon West Conference with an 18-4 mercy-rule win at second-place Cascade on Tuesday. The Eagles finished the league season undefeated after a 15-0 shutout over North Marion on Thursday.

The Dalles softball

The Dalles (21-3) finished unbeaten in the Tri-Valley Conference after surviving a 10-9 scare at runner-up Crook County on Wednesday. The Riverhawks ended the regular season with a 10-0 mercy-rule win over Estacada.

Tillamook boys track

The Tillamook boys scored 108 points to win Friday’s nine-team Toledo Twilight meet. Zeyon Hurliman won the high jump (6-0) and long jump (19-8), Juan Gomez won the 800 (2:10.01), Samuel Diaz won the discus (134-4), Judah Werner won the javelin (168-6), and Landon Mitchell won the pole vault (11-0).

Wells baseball

Wells (16-8) stayed in the PIL title hunt with four wins last week, sweeping a series from Franklin and finishing the week with an 11-1 mercy-rule win over McDaniel. 

West Linn baseball

West Linn (18-6) forced a tie atop the Three Rivers League by taking two of three in a series against Lakeridge. The Lions posted 1-0 and 3-0 shutouts in the final two games of the set.

Wilsonville softball

Wilsonville (18-6) wrapped up the Northwest Oregon title with wins over playoff hopefuls La Salle Prep and Canby early in the week, followed by a 12-2 mercy-rule win over Hood River Valley on Friday.
