Here are the Oregon high school volleyball stars of the week for Sept. 4-10, as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Mayenabasi Akpan, South Medford

The sophomore outside hitter/middle hitter had 22 kills, five digs, three blocks and an ace for the Panthers in match with Roseburg. She then had 19 kills, four digs, two blocks and an ace against North Medford.

Abbygayle Beals, Mazama

The senior middle blocker, who is a defensive leader and a leader within the Vikings’ program, has 19 blocks, 24 kills, 23 digs and a passing average of 2.4 so far on the season.

Taelyn Bentley, Crescent Valley

The junior middle hitter had eight kills, on .538 hitting percentage, five stuff blocks and four aces to help lead the Raiders to a 25-12, 25-22, 22-25, 25-13 victory at South Albany in a Mid-Willamette Conference opener.

Katie Brewer, Centennial

The junior middle blocker had 18 kills and 11 digs for the Eagles in a victory over Hood River Valley and then had 23 kills and seven aces in a Northwest Oregon Conference match with La Salle Prep.

Paije Carpenter, North Medford

The junior outside hitter had 11 kills, eight digs, two aces and a pair of blocks to help the Black Tornado get a 25-20, 25-17, 25-23 win over rival South Medford in a Southwest Conference match played at South Medford High School.

Kaydence Emery, Irrigon

The junior outside hitter had eight kills and five aces to help the Knights score a 25-23, 25-17, 25-14 home win over Riverside in a nonleague match.

Joya Euhus, Santiam Christian

The junior had a team-high 30 kills to help lead the Eagles to a 25-21, 23-25, 25-9, 25-9 win over Taft in a PacWest Conference match held at Taft High School.

Amira Fitzgerald-Bryant, McDaniel

The senior defensive specialist stepped up with some aces and serving runs to help lead the Mountain Lions to victories at Cleveland and Lincoln in Portland Interscholastic League matches.

Kaarina Geymann, Beaverton

The junior setter had 25 assists and nine aces for the Beavers in a 25-13, 25-13, 25-7 win over Aloha in a Metro League opening match. She then had 30 assists and 12 digs in a league contest with Sunset.

Taylor Guerra, Westview

The senior setter/RS hitter, and a team captain, had a triple-double for the Wildcats with 30 assists, 15 kills, 13 digs and three aces, which passing at a 2.50 in serve receive in their 24-26, 25-17, 22-25, 25-15, 15-7 win over Mountainside in a Metro League match held at Mountainside High School.

Riley Harwood, McDaniel

The senior defensive specialist/libero had some key aces and serving runs to help the Mountain Lions score wins at Cleveland and Lincoln in Portland Interscholastic League action.

Destiny Hernandez, Beaverton

The junior outside hitter, coming back from an anterior cruciate ligament injury that caused her to miss her sophomore year, had 11 kills, 14 digs and four aces for the Beavers in a four-set battle with Sunset. She also had eight kills and seven aces for the Beavers in a Metro League sweep against Aloha.

Kiera Kubiak, Ashland

The sophomore setter had 21 assists to go with six digs and three aces for the Grizzlies in their 23-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-11 victory against North Valley in a nonleague contest held at Ashland High School.

Elisbeth Levick, Glencoe

The senior setter/right side had 42 assists, 10 digs, 10 aces and four blocks during the week for the Crimson Tide, which picked up Pacific Conference wins over Forest Grove and Liberty.

Flannery Lundgren, Ashland

The senior middle blocker had 17 kills, two blocks and an ace to help the Grizzlies score a 23-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-11 win over North Valley in a nonleague match held at Ashland High School.

Kamden Mitchell, Crescent Valley

The senior setter, and a team captain, had a strong all-around performance with 20 assists, 15 digs, six aces and four kills for the Raiders in their 25-10, 25-13, 25-10 win over McKay in a Mid-Willamette Conference match held at Crescent Valley High School.

Haley Moreschi, David Douglas

The senior outside hitter/setter had 12 assists, 11 kills and three blocks to help lead the Scots to a 25-11, 25-8, 25-16 victory against Clackamas in a Mt. Hood Conference match.

Latasha Myers, Oakland

The sophomore setter/outside hitter had 13 assists and four kills for the Oakers in a 25-20, 25-21, 25-21 victory at Days Creek in a nonleague contest.

Rylee Pihl, Glencoe

The senior libero had 39 digs and 10 assists during the week. She also served 27 times, getting four aces and serving at 100 percent. She stepped up for the Crimson Tide in a five-set victory over Forest Grove.

Mazie Reeser, Stanfield

The junior outside hitter/defensive specialist had 12 kills, 11 digs and three aces to help the Tigers roar to a 25-7, 25-22, 25-15 win over Enterprise in a Blue Mountain Conference opener played at Stanfield.

Lennon Riddle, North Bend

The senior had 16 kills, four digs, two blocks and an ace for the Bulldogs in their 25-23, 25-16, 26-24 home win over Coquille in a nonleague contest.

Madison Schaefer, McDaniel

The middle hitter, who leads the Mountain Lions in blocks, stepped up with some key kills in the team’s 3-1 victory at Lincoln in a Portland Interscholastic League contest.

Alisha Shepherd, Elkton

The sophomore had a strong showing for the Elks with 17 kills and 15 assists in their 25-10, 25-5, 25-9 home win over Crow in a nonleague match.

Leah Shepherd, Elkton

The senior had 18 digs, seven kills and six aces to help the Elks edge Glendale 25-17, 29-27, 25-20 in a Skyline League opening match held at Elkton.

Morgen Strauss, Century

The senior middle blocker, who is a strong leader as a co-captain with a positive attitude for the squad, had a 10-serves run to help the Jaguars score a 25-18, 25-10, 25-8 win over Liberty in a Pacific Conference match held at Liberty High School.

Shaylee Swatzendruber, Roseburg

The junior tallied 12 kills and seven aces for the Indians in their 19-25, 25-23, 25-14, 25-20 victory against South Medford in a Southwest Conference opener played at Roseburg High School.

Maddie Todd, Cascade Christian

The senior outside hitter had 21 digs and 13 kills to help pace the Challengers in their 26-24, 23-25, 25-19, 25-22 win over Eagle Point in a nonleague match played at Eagle Point High School.

Yana Tuioti, Sheldon

The sophomore hitter had a total of 25 kills and 23 digs while passing better than a 2.0 for the Irish during play at the Central Catholic tournament.

Allison Waechter, Sutherlin

The sophomore outside hitter had 19 kills and four aces to help the Bulldogs edge Phoenix 24-26, 25-12, 25-18, 24-26, 15-13 in a nonleague match held at Sutherlin High School.

Savanna Walker, Lebanon

The sophomore turned in a strong serving game, coming through with six aces to help the Warriors post a 25-20, 25-22, 25-20 win over Central in a Mid-Willamette League opener played at Lebanon High School.

Taylee Wilson, Crater

The senior setter had 18 assists and three aces to help lead the Comets to a 25-16, 25-12, 23-25, 25-4 victory against Mazama in a nonleague match played at Mazama High School.

Teagan Wilson, Santiam Christian

The senior stepped up with 15 kills to help the Eagles soar to a 25-19, 25-12, 25-21 win over Scio in a PacWest Conference opener played at Santiam Christian.
