Oregon 6A football awards: Tualatin's Jayden Fortier earns regular season MVP

A look at the top Oregon 6A football performances during the regular season

The Oregon high school football postseason has arrived, which means it's time to give out my regular season awards.

Overall MVP: Jayden Fortier, Tualatin Timberwolves

I spent the entire offseason telling anyone who would listen that not only was Jayden Fortier the top prospect in Oregon in the class of 2024, but that he deserved to be a four-star prospect*.

*247Sports now lists him as a four-star prospect and the state’s top recruit.

But even I didn’t expect this.

The 6-foot-5, 220-pound has been absolutely dominant on both sides of the ball and should be a first-team all-state selection both ways.

He’s done it all for Tualatin, a program that has primarily faced top-10 opponents every week in the Three Rivers League.

Sometimes there’s a debate regarding the Gatorade Player of the Year.

West Linn’s weapons all share the load and Central Catholic blew out opponents to such a degree that quarterback Cru Newman wasn’t asked to do a lot in the second half this season.

Fortier is the runaway choice.

He’s been absolutely brilliant!

Check out the other awards:

- Offensive player of the year

- Defensive player of the year

- Newcomer of the year

- Best offense

- Best defense

- Offensive lineman of the year

- Defensive lineman of the year

- Breakout underclassman

- Freshman of the year
