Oregon 6A football awards: West Linn Lions named 'state's best offense'

A look at the top Oregon 6A football performances during the regular season

The Oregon high school football postseason has arrived, which means it's time to give out my regular season awards.

Best offense: West Linn Lions

I miss West Linn junior Hudson Hardy, who was off to a stellar start to the season (get well soon).

But the West Linn offense didn’t miss a beat after he went down with an injury.

That's not a shot at Hardy at all. It's a testament to the depth and volume of talent on the Lions' roster.

A dominant offensive line starts things off, but junior Baird Gilroy has been exceptional at quarterback and his weapons are endless, led by junior Danny Wideman and senior Gus Donnerberg.

West Linn has called off the dogs… errr… Lions in the third quarter of most of its games.

But there’s little doubt that the offense is an absolute juggernaut that may prove impossible to stop during the postseason.

Expect multiple first-team all-state selections when teams are announced.

Check out the other awards:

- Overall MVP

- Offensive player of the year

- Defensive player of the year

- Newcomer of the year

- Best defense

- Offensive lineman of the year

- Defensive lineman of the year

- Breakout underclassman
