The 27th Les Schwab Invitational boys basketball tournament tipped off Tuesday at Liberty High School in Hillsboro, Oregon.

Aidan Rice scored a game-high 26 points, Max Elmgren notched 18 points, and Chance Winter added 13 points to go with nine rebounds, helping the Beavers edge the Timberwolves and earn a berth in Thursday’s quarterfinals.
Max Campbell grabbed 11 rebounds and dished out five assists in 32 minutes for Beaverton (6-2), which led 38-35 at halftime.
Jaden Steppe (18 points, 14 rebounds), Jemai Lake (15) and AJ Noland (14) scored in double digits for Tualatin (6-4).

The Bruins raced to a 29-13 lead after 16 minutes and won every quarter in a comfortable victory over the Mavericks.
Mason Bierbrauer led all scorers with 17 points, Brayden Barron had 13 points with eight rebounds, and Sentori Martino tallied 10 points to lead quarterfinal-bound Barlow (6-0).
Brayden Boe scored nine points and pulled down eight rebounds with four steals, and J’Kobi Nicholson added six points and five rebounds to pace Mountainside (5-2), which shot 26% from the field. The Mavericks missed 20 of 24 three-point attempts and committed 18 turnovers.

The Rams drained 14 three-pointers and 11 of 12 free throws as they routed the Challengers to advance to a Thursday quarterfinal against Barlow.
Marley Zeller (21), Isaac Carr (19), Zamir Paschal (11) and Duce Paschal (10) scored in double figures for Central Catholic (5-1), which rolled to a 32-point halftime advantage and forced 23 turnovers in the victory.
Austin Maurer posted game highs of 28 points and 10 rebounds, and Avery Huston chipped in seven points and five rebounds to lead Cascade Christian (2-4).
Southridge 79, Summit 59 | Photos
Five Southridge (8-0) players scored in double digits, and the Skyhawks pulled away in the second half to down the Storm and advance to the quarterfinal round.
Kaden Groenig went for 25 points, Alonzo Hoff had 14, Elijah Thompson dropped in 12, and Carter Fortune and Keenan Reckamp added 10 apiece to carry the load for Southridge.
Pearson Carmichael poured in 21 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and Collin Moore potted 17 points to keep Summit (4-2) close through three periods. The Storm trailed by nine at the break and finished 25% (6 of 24) from three-point range.
