Oregon high school boys basketball computer rankings: Southridge No. 1 (1/10/2024)

The Skyhawks move ahead of Roosevelt in SBLive's latest Oregon boys basketball computer rankings

On the heels of an impressive 67-54 win over defending Class 6A state champion Tualatin, the Southridge Skyhawks (12-1) have moved into the top spot in SBLive's updated Class 6A Oregon high school boys basketball computer rankings

Roosevelt is No. 2 in the 6A computer rankings, followed by Central Catholic, Beaverton and Tualatin.

North Eugene (12-1) is No. 1 in the Class 5A rankings, followed by Summit, Wilsonville, Eagle Point and Mountain View.

SBLive's computer rankings formula was created using its own linear algebra-based ranking algorithm inspired by the Colley Bias-Free Ranking Method. Colley’s Method was created by Wes Colley, Ph.D., an astrophysicist at the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He devised his algorithm in order to help address the subjectivity and controversy regarding BCS college football selections in the 1990s and early 2000s, using a method that used no subjective variables.
