Here are the candidates for the WaFd Bank Oregon Girls Basketball Athlete of the Week as nominated by coaches, fans and readers.

Alissa Alvarez, Phoenix

The junior had a strong all-around performance for the Pirates with a game-high 19 points, 12 rebounds and six steals in their 44-13 win at Mazama in a Skyline Conference contest.

Anna Bales, Crook County

The freshman guard had another big game for the Cowgirls, this time with 26 points, including 18 in the second half, five rebounds, six assists and 13 steals in a 51-36 win over The Dalles in a Tri-Valley Conference opener at Crook County High School.

Ashley Barba, Central

The senior guard had a huge performance for the Panthers, scoring 41 points on 65-percent shooting from the field with six rebounds in an 86-68 win at McKay in a Central Valley Conference contest.

Ava Barnett, New Hope Christian

The junior guard scored a game-high 22 points for the unbeaten Warriors in their 52-34 home victory against Days Creek in a Skyline League clash.

Avery Buss, McNary

The senior guard/wing poured in 31 points to help lead the Celtics to a 74-67 overtime win over West Salem in a Central Valley Conference showdown at McNary High School.

Zoie Carlile, Oakland

The senior post, and a team captain, turned in a double-double for the Oakers with 12 points and 12 rebounds in their 35-18 home win over Illinois Valley in a Valley Coast Conference contest.

Kayle Collman, La Grande

The junior wing stepped up to score a game-high 22 points in the Tigers’ 51-36 home victory against Pendleton in a Greater Oregon League clash.

Thianna Deng-Gomez, Eagle Point

The junior shined with a game-high 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals for the Eagles in their 65-34 win at Ashland in Midwestern League action.

Kendyl Elias, Umpqua Valley Christian

The junior guard had a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Monarchs in their 57-25 home win over Powers in a Skyline League tilt.

Andi Harmon, Klamath Union

The junior center had 20 points and seven rebounds to help the Pelicans come away with a 67-30 win at Phoenix in a Skyline Conference battle.

Isabella Harms, Willamette

The junior forward sank five 3-point baskets on her way to scoring 23 points for the Wolverines in their 79-12 win at Roseburg in a Southwest Conference contest.

Meagan Hellenthal, Umpqua Valley Christian

The freshman post stepped up with a game-high 25 points to lead the Monarchs to a 66-20 win at Glendale in a Skyline League clash.

Kendall Holcomb, Elkton

The junior sank four 3-pointers on her way to scoring a game-high 23 points to help the Elks tip Glendale 41-40 in a Skyline League game at Elkton.

Jordynn Jones, Cascade Christian

The junior forward had 12 points, five assists, five rebounds and five steals for the Challengers in a 62-25 win over South Umpqua in a Far West League contest. She had 16 points, eight rebounds (giving her more than 500 for her career), five assists and three steals in a 54-35 win over Coquille in a league showdown.

Sahara Kramer, Reedsport

The freshman poured in a game-high 28 points, including 18 in the second half, helping the Brave post a 48-46 home win over Oakland in a Valley Coast Conference contest.

Ava Mai, Westside Christian

The junior guard had a double-double with 15 points, 14 rebounds and two assists for the Eagles in a 57-52 home loss to Valley Catholic in a Lewis & Clark League game.

Gretchen Orton, Jefferson (3A)

The junior guard poured in 37 points to lead the Lions to a 72-67 victory at Taft in a PacWest Conference contest.

Sinah Pederson, Douglas

The sophomore turned in a double-double with 10 points and 10 steals in the Trojans’ 49-32 win over St. Mary’s of Medford in a Far West League clash.

Dianara Peña, Klamath Union

The senior guard/forward scored a game-high 23 points, sinking four 3-point baskets, in the Pelicans’ 67-30 victory at Phoenix in Skyline Conference action. 

Caileigh Raines, North Medford

The junior guard scored a game-high 25 points, sinking three 3-point baskets, in leading the Black Tornado to a 54-42 win over Roseburg in a Southwest Conference game at Roseburg High School. 

Ava Rubio, McNary

The senior guard/wing turned in a near triple-double with 20 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists for the Celtics in their 74-67 overtime home victory against West Salem in a key Central Valley Conference battle.

Crystal Sanchez, Riverside

The senior guard scored a team-high 22 points and had three steals for the Pirates in a 41-40 loss at McLoughlin in an Eastern Oregon League contest.

Sara Schmerbach, South Medford

The junior had 17 points, seven rebounds and six steals to help the Panthers tip Grants Pass 50-40 in a Southwest Conference game at South Medford High School.

Hailey Schmidt, Pendleton

The senior scored a team-high 21 points for the Buckaroos in a 51-36 loss to La Grande in a Greater Oregon League game at La Grande High School.

Izzy Simmons, Hermiston

The junior guard recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds to help the Bulldogs get a 53-51 win at Kennewick, Wash., in a Mid-Columbia Conference contest.

Brynn Smith, Willamette 

The junior guard scored a game-high 26 points, sinking three 3-pointers, in helping the Wolverines run to a 79-12 victory at Roseburg in a Southwest Conference tilt.

Sadie Snyder, Oakridge

The senior guard/wing recorded a game-high 24 points, getting 21 of those in the second half, with five 3-pointers for the Warriors in their 40-33 victory at Oakland in a Valley Coast Conference game. 

Taylar Thingvall, Glide

The junior came close to a triple-double with eight points, 10 rebounds and eight blocks in the Wildcats’ 42-41 home win over Lakeview in a Far West League tilt. She had 12 points, six rebounds and five blocks in a 54-31 victory against Rogue River.

Maddie Ward, St. Mary’s (Medford)

The senior center scored a game-high 22 points to help lead the Crusaders to a 47-39 road win over South Umpqua in a Far West League contest.

Taylor Young, South Medford

The sophomore guard scored a game-high 20 points and added three steals for the Panthers in their 50-40 win over Grants Pass in a Southwest Conference game at South Medford High School.
