Oregon high school boys basketball computer rankings: Central Catholic moves up (1/24/2024)
Southridge is still No. 1, but Central Catholic is making a move.
The Skyhawks (15-1) remain the top team in SBLive's Class 6A Oregon high school boys basketball computer rankings. The Rams (11-3) moved up to No. 2 this week, jumping past Roosevelt (13-1) who dropped to No. 3.
Barlow (8-5) sits at No. 4 and Tualatin (10-5) is No. 5.
SBLive's computer rankings formula was created using its own linear algebra-based ranking algorithm inspired by the Colley Bias-Free Ranking Method. Colley’s Method was created by Wes Colley, Ph.D., an astrophysicist at the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He devised his algorithm in order to help address the subjectivity and controversy regarding BCS college football selections in the 1990s and early 2000s, using a method that used no subjective variables.
