Oregon high school boys basketball computer rankings: Central Catholic No. 1 (2/5/2024)

The Rams have won nine in a row

The Central Catholic Rams were perfect in January. And now they're the top-ranked team in SBLive's 6A boys basketball computer rankings.

The Rams (15-3) have won nine consecutive games entering Tuesday's showdown with No. 2 Barlow (13-6).

Grant (12-5) is No. 3 in the 6A rankings, while Beaverton (12-7) is No. 4 and Mountainside (11-6) is No. 5.

Summit (13-4) is No. 1 in the Class 5A rankings, followed by North Eugene, Wilsonville, Woodburn and Putnam.

SBLive's computer rankings formula was created using its own linear algebra-based ranking algorithm inspired by the Colley Bias-Free Ranking Method. Colley’s Method was created by Wes Colley, Ph.D., an astrophysicist at the University of Alabama at Huntsville. He devised his algorithm in order to help address the subjectivity and controversy regarding BCS college football selections in the 1990s and early 2000s, using a method that used no subjective variables.
