St. Joseph's Prep downs Archbishop Spalding on the road

The Hawks scored the game's first 24 points en route to the win

St. Joseph's Prep went on the road across state lines one more time Friday night and will return to Philadelphia with a 24-6 win over Archbishop Spalding (Maryland)

St. Joseph's Prep, the top-ranked team in the SBLive Pennsylvania Power 25 all season and currently ranked No. 8 in the SBLive/Sports Illustrated Power 25 nationally, scored the first 24 points in the game before giving up a touchdown late.

Quarterback Samaj Jones, a University of Cincinnati commit, got the scoring started with a 4-yard touchdown run the first quarter and then Isaiah West made it 14-0 with a 16-yard score.

A 28-yard field goal by Skyler Sholder in the second quarter gave the Hawks a 17-0 lead at the half.

West then scored again on a 50yard run in the fourth quarter to make it 24-0.

St. Joseph's Prep improves to 7-1 this season with one more game left in the regular season against Roman Catholic on the road on Saturday, Oct. 28.

This was the fourth time in eight games this season that the Hawks have left Pennsylvania. They lost a neutral site game in New Jersey to IMG Prep to open the season and then won road games at Lakeland (Florida) and Don Bosco Prep (New Jersey).
