Here are the candidates for SBLive’s Pennsylvania high school athlete of the week for December 10-16. Read through the nominees and cast your vote. Took home the title at 189 pounds in the King of the Mountain tournament with a 7-2 decision in the final.
Kendall Berger, Norwin girls basketball
In a win over Latrobe on Monday, Berger scored 20 points, including four 3-pointers.
Addie Biel, Erie Cathedral Prep girls basketball
Had a game-high 30 points in a 70-50 home win over Mt. Lebanon.
Westley Burchianti, Avella boys basketball
Scored a game-high 30 points in a 58-44 win over Freedom.
Naleli Coplan, Solebury girls basketball
Scored 33 of her team’s 59 points in a win over Delaware Valley Friends
Noah Crozier, North East boys basketball
Scored 24 of his team’s 55 points in a win over Fort LeBoeuf.
Tommy Davis, Belle Vernon boys basketball
In a 79-57 win over Bishop Canevin, Davis scored 25 points.
Peyton Dincher, Jersey Shore girls basketball
In a win over Muncy, Dincher led all scorers with 27 points, including four 3-pointers. She then reached the 1,000-point mark in her career with a. 24-point performance in a win over Mount Carmel.
Elijah Guillory, Moon Area boys basketball
Knocked down four 3-pointers and scored 30 points in a win over North Allegheny.
Tyler Grove, McDowell boys basketball
Scored a game-high 29 points to help lead the Trojans to a 77-52 win over Brashear.
Tanner Guenot, Bald Eagle Area wrestling
At 107 pounds in the King of the Mountain tournament, he won with a pin at 1:25.
Emma Larkin, Geibel Catholic girls basketball
The sophomore scored 23 points and had nine steals in a loss to Leechburg on Monday and then went for 35 points and seven steals in a win over Carmichaels on Thursday.
Anaisah Malone, Pocono Mountain West girls basketball
Malone led the panthers to a win over Bangor by dropping in 25 points.
Nate Papuga, Derry boys basketball
Scored 35 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in a 65-60 win over Greensburg Salem.
Ava Persichetti, River Valley girls basketball
The junior scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 57-30 win over Conemaugh Township and then had 26 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in a 60-34 win over West Shamokin.
Xavier Persun, Central Mountain boys basketball
In a win over Mifflinburg, he knocked down seven 3-pointers and scored a game-high 27 points.
Rakiyah Porter, California girls basketball
Scord a career-high 34 points in a win over Mapletown on Saturday.
Makayla Presser-Palmer, Northwestern girls basketball
She scored 23 points in a 41-32 win over Lakeview and then 25 points in a 41-29 win over North East.
Joseph Roth, Ellwood City boys basketball
In a win over Serra Catholic, Roth scored a game-high 29 points.
Owen Schlager, Trinity boys basketball
Scored 36 points and pulled down nine rebounds in a 77-62 win over Steelton-Highspire.
Tucker Seidel, West Perry wrestling
Won the 189-pound crown at the Carlisle Christmas Classic Wrestling Tournament with an 18-4 major decision over Red Land's Bryce Phillips.
Maria Tandle, Big Spring girls basketball
In a 49-40 win over West Perry, she led all scorers with 23 points.
Alex Torbeca, Waynesboro boys basketball
Had a double-double with 24 points and 14 rebounds in a 49-33 win over West Perry.
Luke Willochell, Latrobe wrestling
At the King of the Mountain tournament, Willochell pinned all five of his opponents on the way to the 121-pound crown.
Allie Yauch, Frazier girls basketball
Scored a game-high 24 points in a 51-43 win over Jefferson-Morgan.
