Top 25 national high school girls basketball rankings: No. 1 Archbishop Mitty still undefeated (1/29/2024)
The best high school girls basketball team in the country, Archbishop Mitty (California), keeps crushing in-state competition as it enters the final weeks of West Catholic play.
And second-ranked Long Island Lutheran (New York) continues to add its already-strong national resume with a win over Red Bank Catholic - its 13th victory over an opponent which has been in the Top 25 at some point.

1. Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, CA) (19-0 – 1st)
On-court season grade out after wins over rival Valley Christian (77-23) and Presentation (86-7) - A-plus. Team's academic grade-point average - 3.9.
2. Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, NY) (14-1 – 2nd)
A 77-59 win over Red Bank Catholic marked 13th victory over opponents nationally-ranked, present or earlier in season. Kate Koval went over 1,000 points.
3. Montverde Academy (Montverde, FL) (19-1 – 3rd)
Cruised past Academy of Central Florida (80-49) in its only game of the week. Senior Chloe Sotell led the way with 25 points, including seven 3-pointers.
4. Etiwanda (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) (22-3 – 4th)
With its schedule finally cooling off, Etiwanda defeated league foes Chino Hills, Rancho Cucamonga, and Upland by a combined score of 246-64.
5. Bishop McNamara (Forestville, MD) (18-3 – 5th)
Made it look easy against three WCAL foes before holding off Rutgers Prep, 61-53, finishing the week on a 13-game winning streak.
6. Grayson (Loganville, GA) (21-0 – 6th)
After lopsided wins against Newton and Brookwood, 19 of Grayson's 21 victories have come by 15 points or more. Rolling along as top-10 stalwart.
7. IMG Academy (Bradenton, FL) (20-3 – 7th)
Nearly knocked off Canadian juggernaut Crestwood Prep, which has only lost to Archbishop Mitty. DME Academy and Montverde Academy are on deck.
8. Sidwell Friends (Washington, DC) (13-2 – 8th)
Another week of taking care of business against tough DCSAA competition, defeating Maret, Bullis and Bishop Ireton - with Bullis playing Quakers tough (61-52).
9. Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, CA) (24-1 – 9th)
Two more games until the Trailblazers' CIFSS Open Division title defense really begins. Very Well could be top seed in the Southern Section playoffs.
10. Morris Catholic (Denville, NJ) (17-0 – 10th)
Stock-rising week after rolling against Franklin (NJ) and Plainville before outdueling DME Academy, 63-61. Mia Pauldo had 28 points and seven assists in close win.
11. Incarnate Word Academy (Bel-Nor, MO) (17-0 – 11th)
After defeating Fremd, 64-54, Red Knights should be able to coast most of the rest of the way towards another undefeated regular season.
12. DeSoto (DeSoto, TX) (19-5 – 12th)
With toughest part of schedule out of way, Eagles cruising until playoffs start. They handled Skyline and Waxahachie last week to remain tied with Duncanville.
13. Duncanville (Duncanville, TX) (25-4 – 13th)
Five different Pantherettes scored in double figures in last week's 70-49 win against Lake Ridge. Duncanville followed it up with a 63-50 victory over Cedar Hill.
14. Westtown (West Chester, PA) (18-2 – 14th)
Made short work of Germantown Friends and George School to continue painless romp through Friends Schools circuit. Finishes regular season up this week.
15. Mansfield Timberview (Arlington, TX) (32-1 – 15th)
Still winningest team in Texas with 32 wins, and Wolves end regular season against Mansfield Summit and Seguin - teams they beat by combined 80 points earlier.
16. Grace Christian (Sanford, NC) (23-0 – 16th)
Top 2024 recruit Sarah Strong has been ... well, strong recently, averaging 25.0 points, 15.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 4.7 steals, and 3.0 blocks in past three victories..
17. Hebron Christian (Dacula, GA) (19-2 – 17th)
Just how far above the rest has Hebron Christian been in region play? In six games, team outscored its opponents, 447-123.
18. Sage Hill (Newport Beach, CA) (21-2 – 20th)
With 68-56 non-league win over underrated Mira Costa, Sage Hill's streak of double-digit victories is up to 11 - with three regular-season games to go.
19. Thomas Dale (Chester, VA) (14-0 – 21st)
In its only game of the week, Thomas Dale picked up its most lopsided victory yet -, a 102-17 win over Matoaca.
20. Johnston (Johnston, IA) (18-0 – 19th)
Survived what would've been a colossal upset Friday, holding off Ankeny Centennial, 64-59. Also beat Valley, 59-22, earlier in week.
21. Clackamas (Clackamas, OR) (8-2 – 23rd)
Faced biggest Mount Hood test - and passed with defense in 55-31 win over Nelson, holding its foe to six first-half points. Jazzy Davidson finished with 28 points.
22. Cardinal Newman (Santa Rosa, CA) (22-2 – 24th)
Is this the year team emerges atop North Coast Section? Cardinals will enter playoffs on 22-game winning streak - and unbeaten with Taissa Queiroz in action.
23. Folsom (Folsom, CA) (18-4 – Bubble)
Mid-January loss to Cardinal Newman was a minor speed bump, but Bulldogs have picked up where they left off in blowing out Sierra Foothill foes.
24. West Bloomfield (West Bloomfield, MI) (11-0 – Bubble)
Davis sisters and Lakers have returned to top 25, where they spent much of the 2022-23 season. Team has more than doubled opponents' score in nine of 11 games.
25. Loyola Academy (Wilmette, IL) (28-0 – Bubble)
First trip to the top 25 this winter. Ramblers' top wins include victories over Fremd, Montini Catholic, and Batavia.
