SBLive Boys Basketball Recruiting Rankings: King's junior Tyler Linhardt ranked No. 9 in Washington /

In an effort to shine a brighter spotlight on Washington high school basketball players, we are introducing our first-ever SBLive Boys Basketball Recruiting Rankings.

Our rankings are compiled by SBLive Basketball Analyst Dan Dickau based on observations and conversations with an extensive network of coaching and media sources across the country. The players have been evaluated through a college recruiting lens and analyzed in four categories: athleticism, ball skills, basketball IQ and upside.

Over the next few weeks we will continue to roll out our Top 25 players in Washington. Here’s a closer look at No. 9 on the list, King's junior Tyler Linhardt:

DICKAU’S ANALYSIS

ATHLETICISM: Linhardt has really improved his athleticism through hard work and determination. He has lost over 25 pounds since his freshman year through dedication to strength and conditioning. With this has come explosiveness allowing him to finish above the rim and through contact.

BALL SKILLS: Linhardt can score in so many different ways. He can score on the low block. He can handle it well in transition and push to a finish. He can pick-and-pop out to the 3-point line or pick-and-roll while catching and finishing in traffic. He can also iso on the elbow and create space to shoot jumpers. He can flat out score all over the floor.

BASKETBALL IQ: He has a very high basketball IQ with a true knack for scoring and a nose for the ball on the glass.

UPSIDE: Linhardt plays at a smaller school that produced Gonzaga standout Corey Kispert, but make no mistake: like Kispert, he's a big-time player. Linhardt already has multiple Pac-12 offers as a junior. He reminds some of a smaller Kevin Love with his feel for the game and balance of scoring and rebounding.
