The Tennessee Volunteers football program entered Friday with the nation's No. 7 recruiting class.

Then added to it, as Millbrook High School (North Carolina) three-star wide receiver Nathan Leacock announced his commitment to Tennessee over more than 20 other programs:

The 6-foot-4, 197-pound pass-catcher took June official visits to Michigan, North Carolina and Tennessee and also had significant ties to North Carolina State.

But in the end, Tennessee proved to be the big winner for his services.

As a junior, he hauled in 37 passes for 734 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Leacock is rated the nation's No. 92 wide receiver, but has generated buzz that far surpasses his ranking.

He joins a Tennessee recruiting class that is headlined by California five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava, but also consists of big-time edge-rusher talents Chandavian Bradley (Missouri) and Caleb Herring (Tennessee) and tight end Ethan Davis (Georgia).

Leacock is the third wide receiver pledge in the Volunteers' class, joining borderline five-star talent Cameron Seldon, who is listed as an athlete, and under-the-radar playmaker Nate Spillman
