Combine Academy (North Carolina) combo guard Silas Demary Jr. racked up double-digit offers during the recruiting process.

Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, North Carolina State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Wake Forest were just some of the schools to extend him a scholarship.

On Friday, however, the 6-foot-4, 180-pound playmaker put an end to the recruiting process, announcing his commitment to the USC Trojans:

Demary is rated the nation's No. 59 overall prospect and No. 12 combo guard.

Here's what 247Sports had to say about him as a prospect:

"Demary is a potential big lead guard in the making. He plays both on and off the ball right now, approaches the game with a scoring mentality, and does not yet create a ton of easy scoring opportunities for his teammates, but also is not especially turnover prone either. He is at his best scoring the ball from the mid-range and in. He is extremely shifty to the rim, able to maintain his balance while attacking low to the ground, and a crafty finisher with both hands. Hill pull-up game is a definite weapon and he also uses his body well to draw contact and get to the free-throw line. His three-point range is still inconsistent with a ball that is a little hard and flat, but does not have any other glaring mechanical problems. Defensively, he shows flashes of moving his feet but tends to open his toes too easily when defending dribble penetration."

The hope, at least for USC, is that he will pair up with Wheeler (Georgia) five-star point guard Isaiah Collier, the nation's No. 1 overall prospect, to form a dynamic backcourt duo.

Collier has previously announced a top four that consists of USC, among others, and he took an official visit to Los Angeles in May.

It's a pitch that has Demary's full approval.

"I will just tell him that they run a two-guard lineup and so me and him could be the next backcourt in college basketball next year," he told 247Sports. "Then, he is another point guard that wants to be in the NBA and they have put guards in the NBA as well so coach Enfield will prepare us both well to get there."

Demary is the first commitment in USC's 2023 recruiting class.

But more help could soon be on the way.
