Ryan Williams, 5-star wide receiver, commits to in-state Alabama Crimson Tide
Saraland High School (Alabama) sophomore wide receiver Ryan Williams is young.
But he's already proving to be one of the nation's most electric playmakers.
Through seven games, the 6-foot, 155-pound playmaker has tallied 16 carries and 38 receptions, averaging 7.7 touches per content.
With those opportunities he's racked up nearly 1,000 yards and scored 18 touchdowns.
Perhaps that's why Williams is already rated a five-star prospect, the nation's No. 25 overall recruit and the No. 6 wide receiver.
On Saturday, he put an early end to his recruitment, announcing his commitment to Alabama over offers from Auburn, Florida State, Michigan, Tennessee and others:
Williams is the first class of 2025 pledge for Alabama.
Saraland football coach Jeff Kelly believes the Crimson Tide got a player that can be a game-changer in the SEC.Β
βWhen you put the tape on, he just plays at a different speed than everyone else on the screen,β he told AL.com. βThe difference jumps off the screen. He is 40 (yard-dash) fast. Heβs football fast. I think he has been laser-timed in the 4.5 range. β¦ There have been times this year when he has the ball that everyone else looks like they are running in slow motion.β'
