The 2023 recruiting cycle still has months remaining, but already top 2024 and 2025 prospects are coming off the board.

On Wednesday evening, Class of 2025 Eau Gallie High School (Florida) playmaker DL Hardison announced his commitment to Florida State, choosing the Seminoles over offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Nebraska, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and many others:

"i always wanted to go there ever since Dalvin Cook played there," he said. "Ever since they offered me, they made sure they stayed in touch with me. ... When I went on my visit it just felt like home."

The still-developing 5-foot-9, 150-pound speedster is an electric slot receiver who hauled in 63 receptions for 632 yards and six touchdowns as a freshman.

In its local spring roundup, The Palm Beach Post provided a scouting report on the emerging star:

"There’s a lot to like about Commodores 2025 playmaker DL Hardison, but the noticeable thing Tuesday is that he was always open. The slot WR, who already has a handful of Power 5 offers, gets off the line quickly and fluid in his movements. Defensive backs had a very difficult time staying with him. Hardison is explosive, but he also will have a major impact in short yardage situations."

Hardison is the first pledge in Florida State's 2025 recruiting class, but adds to its overall early haul.

The Seminoles have already secured six commitments in the class of 2024, a group that is ranked No. 2 nationally and is led by Georgia five-star athlete Kameron Davis.
