Dennis Evans requests NLI release from Minnesota; Louisville projected landing spot

Just days after decommitting from the Gophers, the 7-foot-1 senior center from Hillcrest High School (California) has drawn interest from various Power 5 schools

Dennis Evans could be headed to Louisville.

A four-star center, Evans requested to be released from his National Letter of Intent with the Minnesota Gophers last week, according to a report from the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.

The 7-foot-1 210-pound senior center from Hillcrest (California) is ranked the nation's No. 4 center, No. 38 overall prospect, and California's No. 8 prospect in the class of 2023 according to 247 Sports

Evans has reportedly heard from Louisville, Illinois, Missouri, and TCU since his decommitment. And Louisville appears to be the frontrunner.

On3 National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw predicts the Cardinals have a 92% chance of landing the prized recruit, while Peegs.com Indiana contributor Trevor Andershock put in a Crystal Ball projection with medium level confidence in favor of Louisville.

For 2023 recruits alone, Andershock has been perfect - 34/34 - on his Crystal Ball predictions. He is also a perfect 44/44 for all-time recruiting picks
