Prediction: Indiana Hoosiers to land Kel'el Ware in transfer portal
UPDATE: Kel'el Ware reportedly committed to Indiana on Monday evening:
---
It looks like Kel'el Ware is close to making a decision.
Ware, a 7-foot 210-pound freshman center, is the No. 1 ranked prospect currently in the transfer portal. The former five-star recruit and 2022 McDonald's All-American out of North Little Rock (Arkansas), is expected to announce his decision on Tuesday according to a report by Adam Zagoria.
The No. 2 overall center in last year's class averaged 6.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.3 blocks and shot 46% from the field for the Oregon Ducks this past season.
Last week, Ware took an official visit to the Indiana Hoosiers and ended up canceling his visit to the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he was scheduled to visit next following his trip to Bloomington.
Prediction: Kel'el Ware to Indiana Hoosiers
According to TheDailyHoosier.com, Ware thoroughly enjoyed his visit with the Hoosiers and they are in strong contention to land the coveted freshman center.
Ware would fill a much-needed void at the center position for Indiana. All-American and projected first-round 2023 NBA Draft pick Trayce Jackson-Davis is no longer a Hoosier, which opens up a huge role for Ware to prosper under head coach Mike Woodson.
Both On3 and 247Sports have 'crystal-balled' Ware to Indiana. Both predictions state the Hoosiers have a 90% chance or above for the Hoosiers to land Ware.
Indiana's 2023 recruiting class currently consists of four-star point guard and former teammate of Bronny James' Gabe Cupps, and Newton (Georgia) four-star combo guard Jakai Newton.
Having the opportunity to play with a playmaking and dynamic scoring guard in Gabe Cupps should be intriguing for a lob threat, rim-finishing and shooting big man in Ware.
