McKinney (Texas) two-way standout Makhi Frazier is listed as three-star linebacker on On3 and is "not rated" by the other three recruiting services.

But clearly college football coaching staffs disagree.

During the recruiting process, the 5-foot-11, 210-pound running back/linebacker racked up double-digit offers, highlighted by Arkansas, Boise State, Michigan State, Missouri, Oregon State and others.

In fact, Frazier was a priority recruit for several of those programs.

On Tuesday, however, Frazier put an end to the process, announcing his commitment to Oregon State over Michigan State and others.

"It’s a program that I believe is excelling right now and can develop me into the player I want to be in the future to get to the next level," he said.

Frazier was one of the key visitors to Corvallis last month during Oregon State's Junior Day.

The annual recruiting event has been a source of significant recruiting success for Jonathan Smith's program in recent years, and Frazier provides the latest example of that successful approach.

For Frazier, it proved to be the defining moment of his recruitment.

"I felt welcomed and at home," he said. "It changed (my recruitment) a lot."

Frazier is the second commitment in Oregon State's 2024 recruiting class, joining Homestead (California) three-star tight end Wyatt Hook.
