Isaiah Brown on Florida Gators commitment: 'Todd Golden saw me as a priority in their program'

The Orlando Christian Prep (Florida) shooting guard caught up with SBLive Sports about his college decision

Three-star shooting guard Isaiah Brown announced his commitment to the Florida Gators on Mother's Day.

The Top-150 junior out of Orlando Christian Prep (Florida) is staying home.

Brown, a 6-foot-6, 170-pound shooting guard is ranked as the nation's No. 121 overall prospect, No. 24 shooting guard, and Florida's No. 11 overall recruit in the class of 2024 according to On3

Florida was Brown's first Power Six offer, as the Gators extended an offer to the Orlando product in January.

"What made me select Florida was the fact that the coach [Todd Golden] saw me as a priority in their program and thought I could make an impact in their program my freshman year," Brown told SBLive Sports. "The coaching staff was great, they really emphasized that they wanted me there."

Brown is the first commitment for the Gators in 2024, but that doesn't seem to bother him in the slightest.

"Being the first in my class to commit feels good. I have no specific players in mind to come with me to Gainesville," Brown told SBLive Sports.

It's never the 'offseason' for Brown, as he plans to put in a lot of work over the summer on his game leading into his senior year before heading off to Gainesville.

"This summer I will be working on the consistency of my shot and to make my ball handling better than it is right now."
