William Amos Hough (North Carolina) four-star linebacker and baseball star James Nesta is ready to announce his college commitment.

The 6-foot-5, 205-pound defender, rated the nation's No. 19 linebacker, has taken official visits to Miami, North Carolina and, most recently, Oklahoma and is set to announce his decision Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT:

Nesta, who is also a standout baseball player (pitcher/outfielder) and intends to play both sports in college, announced his intentions to commit Monday, a day after returning from an Oklahoma official visit that received high praise.

“I’ve really started to like Oklahoma so much because of what Coach Roof, Coach Chav, and Coach V have shown what they can do for me as a player and a person in general," he told On3

Nesta has officially trimmed his list to Miami, North Carolina and Oklahoma, but all signs point to a big recruiting win for the Sooners.

247Sports has put in four predictions in Oklahoma's favor, while On3 gives the Sooners a 94.7 percent chance of securing his commitment.

What would Oklahoma be getting?

As a junior, Nesta registered 41 tackles, 13 tackles-for-loss, nine sacks and a defensive touchdown via fumble recovery.

Overall, Oklahoma's 2024 recruiting class is ranked No. 47 nationally, but consists of just six pledges.

A meteoric rise is still very possible this cycle - and it could begin this week with the addition of Nesta.
