Prediction: Oregon State Beavers to complete dynamic Texas running back duo

Oregon State appears poised to add another running back into the fold

It's a tale as old as time.

Oregon State needs running back recruits. Oregon State scours Texas for unheralded ball-carriers. Oregon State secures commitments from those Texas targets. Texas running backs become stars.

The Rodgers brothers, Jacquizz and James (wide receiver), may have started that trend, but it has clearly continued with the emergence of Damien Martinez, one of the nation's top young playmakers.

In the class of 2024, Oregon State has already secured the commitment of McKinney bruising back Makhi Frazier.

And more help is on the way.

Prediction: Brandon Tullis to Oregon State Beavers

On Friday, Memorial (Texas) three-star running back Brandon Tullis announced a July 8 commitment date and a final two of California and Oregon State.

The 6-foot, 190-pound ball-carrier, who would represent a perfect complement to Frazier, is coming off an Oregon State official visit that went well.

"My official visit definitely lived up to my expectations, going back there again for an official," he said. "You get a real sense of family being there. I like the way they run the ball. They get a lot of guys involved, get them touches. That's what stands out about them."

Several factors here: Oregon State has a long reputation prioritizing Texas backs, Frazier-Tullis would complement one another and Tullis is fresh off a June official visit to Corvallis that could not have gone better.

All signs point to yet another running back recruiting win for Oregon State in, "The Lone Star State."
