Prediction: USC Trojans poised to land 2 key in-state bluechip recruits

Two key USC targets have set commitment dates for next week

The USC Trojans have the nation's No. 11 recruiting class, but it's about to get a whole lot better.

Two primary in-state targets, Millikan four-star wide receiver Ryan Pellum and Sierra Canyon four-star safety Marquis Gallegos, are set to announce their commitments on June 26 and June 27, respectively.

And it should be good news for the Trojans.

Prediction: Ryan Pellum, Marquis Gallegos to USC Trojans

Pellum recently announced a top two of Oregon and USC.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound pass-catcher, rated the nation's No. 69 overall prospect, took an official visit to Los Angeles last week and has since canceled his scheduled official visit to Oregon, originally set for this weekend.

This is a no-brainer.

Barring an absolute shocker, he's a future Trojan, and is set to announce his decision at 2 p.m. PT on June 26.

In mid-June, Gallegos announced a top five of Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon and USC - with a June 27 commitment date.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back, rated the nation's No. 254 overall prospect and No. 21 safety, has scheduled just two official visits - USC and Oregon.

He took his trip to Los Angeles last week, and by all accounts it was a home run visit.

Oregon is scheduled to get the final trip, and the Ducks should never be counted out (assuming the visit takes place).

But all signs point to this becoming a pair of big additions for USC.

The recruiting industry agrees.

On3 gives USC a 97.6 percent chance of securing Gallegos, while 247Sports has two big predictions in from Greg Biggins and Steve Wiltfong favoring the Trojans.

With Pellum and Gallegos in the fold, USC's class would jump from No. 11 nationally to No. 7, leapfrogging recruiting rival Oregon in the process.
