Tylen Singleton commits to LSU: Tigers continue 2024 in-state recruiting dominance

The four-star Many (Louisiana) standout becomes the state's eighth top 10 recruit to choose to stay home

Brian Kelly and LSU continue to dominate in-state recruiting.

The Tigers had already secured commitments from seven of Louisiana's top 10 prospects in the class of 2024, and they added to that total Saturday with one of the nation's top linebackers.

Tylen Singleton, a consensus four-star linebacker from Many (Louisiana), committed to LSU over Arkansas, Tennessee, Texas A&M and others, giving the Tigers their third-highest-ranked commit in 2024.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound senior is the state's No. 5 recruit in 2024, per the On3 industry ranking, and the No. 13 linebacker in the country. He is the eighth top-10 prospect in Louisiana for the class of 2024 who has committed to LSU.

Only the state's top two seniors, defensive lineman Dominick McKinley (Acadiana) and defensive back Wardell Mack (John Ehret), remain uncommitted, and LSU is viewed as the favorite for both.

While Singleton has played strong safety in high school, he projects as a linebacker at the next level. His rare blend of size and speed allows him to line up all over the field.

No matter which position Singleton best fits, Kelly just added another chess piece to his defense, and he didn't have to leave the state.
