Caden Durham, nation's No. 8 running back, trims list to 3; LSU Tigers emerging

Duncanville (Texas) four-star running back Caden Durham is down to a final three of LSU, Oklahoma and Texas A&M

Duncanville (Texas) four-star running back Caden Durham is the nation's No. 8 running back and the No. 2 uncommitted player in the country at his position.

But he may not be for much longer.

On Sunday, the 5-foot-9, 180-pound ball-carrier announced a top three of LSU, Oklahoma and Texas A&M:

That list is far from surprising.

For a time, Durham was projected as a near-lock to choose Oklahoma, but LSU has surged of late stemming from a recent visit to Baton Rouge and it now seems the Tigers have taken the lead.

That lead may have solidified this weekend with Durham's trip to LSU for "Bayou Splash," a weekend event for the program's top commits and targets.

Durham also let it be known that he was ready to move his commitment date following his recent trips, further evidence that LSU is trending in the right direction.

As a junior, Durham carried the ball 210 times for 1,980 yards and 36 touchdowns, averaging 9.3 yards per carry.

LSU's 20-man 2024 recruiting class is ranked No. 11 nationally and is still in search of a running back.

Durham would certainly fit the bill.
