Dakorien Moore commits to LSU: Tigers land Duncanville 5-star receiver

Moore becomes the second Duncanville standout to commit to LSU this week

If at first you don’t succeed, try again.

After missing out on Duncanville (Texas) five-star Colin Simmons earlier this week, LSU went back to the well. Or in this case, another Duncanville five-star recruit.

Five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore announced Saturday his commitment to LSU, picking the Tigers over Texas, Florida State and others.

The 5-foot-11 , 175-pound junior is the nation’s No. 3 wide receiver and No. 11 overall recruit in the class of 2025, per the 247Sports composite rankings.

While LSU missed out on Simmons, the nation’s No. 1 edge rusher in the class of 2024, it wasn’t all bad news out of Duncanville for the Tigers this week, even before Moore announced his decision.

Duncanville senior Caden Durham, a four-star running back ranked in the top 100 nationally, committed to LSU during a shared ceremony with Simmons on Thursday at the high school. Simmons committed to Texas shortly after Durham picked LSU.

As a sophomore, Moore hauled in 44 receptions for 767 yards and seven touchdowns for the UIL 6A state champion Duncanville, which finished the season ranked No. 7 in the SBLive Power 25.
