Watch: Jordan Lyle, Ohio State Buckeyes commit, scores on stunning 'run of the year' candidate
In April, St. Thomas Aquinas (Florida) running back Jordan Lyle committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes over fellow finalists Alabama, Florida State, Georgia and Miami.
On Friday night, the nation's No. 3 running back showed why he was one of the most coveted playmakers in America.
Lyle delivered a dazzling touchdown run that will almost certainly be a "run of the year" candidate, showing off a blend of speed, power and balance on his way to the endzone.
Watch:
Lyle's decision to commit to Ohio State stemmed from his visit to Columbus in March.
“I liked it a lot, man,” Lyle told 247Sports. “Everything impressed me from the running back room to the tempo of practice, to talking to the coaches, even the weather. The weather is not that bad like people say sometimes. I talked to coach Alford pretty much the whole trip. I could compare the Ohio State practice to our’s at Aquinas, so the transition would not be that hard.”
The 6-foot, 190-pound athlete is rated the nation's No. 42 overall prospect, flirting with five-star status.
With runs like the one he delivered Friday night, Lyle is likely to push for the distinction of the nation's No. 1 running back - and add a possible fifth star.
