Prediction: Notre Dame Fighting Irish set to land early football commitment

Notre Dame is set to add a class of 2025 commitment soon

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish has a top-10 recruiting class in the 2024 recruiting cycle and the nation's No. 3 class early in the 2025 cycle.

But it seems Marcus Freeman could soon add to his haul.

Prediction: Cree Thomas to Notre Dame

Brophy College Prep (Arizona) cornerback Cree Thomas holds double-digit offers from the likes of Arizona, Arizona State, California, Oregon, Purdue, Wisconsin and others.

But this week, the 6-foot-1, 175-pound defensive back told SBLive Sports that he is ready to set a commitment date and announce a college decision.

And that update points directly at Notre Dame.

Thomas, the nation's No. 29 cornerback, has been rumored to be a Fighting Irish lean for months, but has recently taken a pair of trips to South Bend.

With a decision coming soon, it seems like Notre Dame is the clear-cut option.

And the recruiting industry agrees.

247Sports has 6-of-6 predictions in favoring a future in South Bend, while On3 projects Notre Dame with a 99.8 percent chance of winning the recruiting battle.

Thomas would be the eighth pledge in Notre Dame's class, tying the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs' 2025 haul for most in the country to date.
