Watch: Jericho Johnson, Oregon Ducks signee, scores defensive touchdown in All-American Bowl
It has been a banner week for future Oregon Ducks defenders in All-American games.
First in the Under Armour All-American Game, Oregon signee and St. Frances (Maryland) four-star cornerback Ify Obidegwu intercepted a pass and returned it 73 yards for the score.
During Saturday's All-American Bowl, Armijo (California) four-star defensive lineman and Oregon signee Jericho Johnson recovered a fumble in the endzone for a touchdown on national television:
Johnson and Obidegwu combined to give future Ducks two defensive touchdowns in the nation's top two marquee national high school all-star exhibitions.
Oregon has compiled the nation's No. 3 recruiting class during the 2024 cycle, and much of that work was done early in the process.
However, Johnson represented a key late addition, as he was the top uncommitted defensive lineman in the West region when he chose the Ducks on the second day of the early signing period in December.
Overall, he is rated the nation's No. 5 defensive tackle.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound defensive lineman gave Oregon a three-man sweep of the West's top defensive line prospects, joining Mater Dei (California) five-star prospect Aydin Breland and Salpointe Catholic (Arizona) five-star edge-rusher Elijah Rushing.
