Luke Kromenhoek, Florida State QB signee, earns 5-star status: Report

On3 released its final class of 2024 football recruiting rankings

On3 released its final football rankings for the class of 2024 on Monday - with 13 players adding an illustrious fifth star.

That proved to be good news for Florida State Seminoles signee and Benedictine Military School (Georgia) Luke Kromenhoek, who climbed to No. 26 overall and the No. 3 quarterback.

Here's what On3 had to say about Kromenhoek's big rise:

"Florida State signee Luke Kromenhoek (No. 26) is the best quarterback prospect to sign with the Seminoles since Jameis Winston back in 2012. The Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Military product has one of the highest upsides among 2024 quarterbacks. At 6-foot-3.5, 190 pounds, Kromenhoek sports one of the strongest arms and quickest throwing motions in the group. He’s also a plus athlete at the position. As a two-year varsity starter, he’s less seasoned than many of the other top 2024 passers. There’s room for improvement with his overall consistency and decision-making. While he may need a year or two to sit, there’s no denying the upside and long-term potential with continued development."

For his part, the Florida State signee was honored to earn that final fifth star.

"It has always been a dream of mine and validates all of the hard work," he said. "Being recognized as five-star quarterback by On3 is an amazing honor, but not possible without my teammates and coaches from the beginning of my (quarterback) journey. Appreciate y’all very much. Go 'Noles."

As a senior, Kromenhoek accumulated 3,136 yards and 31 touchdowns - passing for 2,578 yards and 24 scores while rushing for 588 yards and seven touchdowns.

Florida State's class is ranked No. 14 nationally by On3 and No. 7 by 247Sports.

While Kromenhoek is the clear headliner of the group, the Seminoles also boast a pair of highly thought-of cornerbacks - Venice (Florida) star Charles Lester III and Miami Norland (Florida) playmaker Jamari Howard.

Admittedly, the class has also been defined by a series of decommitments, including Buford (Georgia) five-star safety KJ Bolden, elite Miami Central (Florida) edge-rusher Armondo Blount and coveted Colquitt County (Georgia) tight end Landen Thomas.

Those near-misses were a source of frustration for Florida State fans in December, but overall it was a strong class for Mike Norvell and his coaching staff.

And a five-star quarterback is now officially leading that charge.
