Oregon State Beavers nearing commitment? Upcoming visit key for Northwest star
The Oregon State Beavers are set to host a key mid-week visit starting Tuesday, one that could lead to an eventual commitment.
Graham-Kapowsin (Washington) three-star tight end Noah Flores is expected to arrive on campus this week, where he hopes to continue to build on a solid foundation he's developed with the new coaching staff.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pound jumbo pass-catcher holds double-digit offers, including Arizona, Cal, Michigan, Oregon, Oregon State, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and others.
But the Beavers are standing out this spring.
What does he like about Corvallis so far?
"Everything," Flores said. "What they're building down there is something special and I would love to be a part of it."
That relationship has taken off following a recent in-school visit by Oregon State.
"Coach (Jon) Boyer came by the school and we chopped it up for close to an hour... just talking about ball and life," Flores said. "Coach (Thomas) Ford is like family. The rest of the staff I have to meet still, but those two... I feel like I've gotten to build a relationship with, for sure."
Flores said he doesn't have any other trips panned yet and that his interest in Oregon State is "very serious."
Could he commit with a strong trip this week?
"Most definitely," he said.
Of course, several other programs will likely try to keep that from happening.
Flores announced a top five of Arizona, Hawaii, Penn State, Tennessee and Washington in December, so those are certainly programs worth keeping tabs on.
Still, its great news for the Beavers, who find themselves firmly in the mix for one of the Northwest's best prospects.
