Mater Dei star Marcus Harris locks in Oregon Ducks official visit
The Oregon Ducks are quite active on the recruiting trail this week, as several of their top prospects are announcing their official visit plans on social media.
On Wednesday, Mater Dei (California) elite wide receiver Marcus Harris shared the news that he had, in fact, locked in a trip to Eugene on June 14:
The 6-foot, 180-pound pass-catcher, a consensus four-star prospect who is rated the nation's No. 7 wide receiver by ESPN, had high praise for multiple aspects of the Oregon program.
"What stands out to me is their offense," Harris said. "I’ve been in love with it for a minute. Everybody gets involved. I could, for sure, see myself in that offense."
Under Dan Lanning, Harris also sees an Oregon program that could soon win a national championship
"I feel like the program is on their way to improve and get that natty [national championship]," he said. "Most importantly, they develop their players. I’ve been talking to the staff for years now. Those guys are like family to me."
So, how does Harris view the Ducks overall?
"Serious contender, for sure," he said. "I could vision myself playing in that stadium."
Oregon has quickly built a pipeline to the Mater Dei football program.
Last year, the Ducks inked a pair of Monarchs - five-star defensive lineman Aydin Breland and three-star wide receiver Jack Ressler.
Lanning and his coaching staff will certainly hope to exceed that number in the 2025 cycle, as Mater Dei boasts a handful of bluechip recruits - edge-rusher Nasir Wyatt, wide receivers Daryus Dixon and Harris, running back Jordon Davison, cornerback Chuck McDonald and linebacker Abduall Sanders Jr.
That effort took a small step forward this week, as Oregon has locked in an official visit with Harris.
